Phew, summer...it's "chaotic good" to squeeze as much adventure in as you can, don't you think?
Speaking of adventuress...
I'll be spending a lot of time on Mount Tahoma coming up. This Wednesday, July 17th at 7PM I'm speaking at the Paradise Inn as part of the 125th Anniversary of Mount Rainer National Park celebration. It is free and open to the public; please join me if you can!
I will also be leading programs on the mountain for a group of Native and Asia-Pacific Islander youth. And another big climb is coming up with Alpine Ascents International (more on that next month).
Will you join me at the Refuge Outdoor Festival?
Refuge Outdoor Festival is a 3 day outdoor and camping experience geared towards people of color (allies welcome). I'll be there all weekend doing outreach. Your chance to join an Earth Gym Workout event will be Sunday, August 18th at 11 AM. Check out the entire weekend lineup, it looks amazing! All you need to do is buy a festival pass here.
And a hint of what's to come...
I've been connecting with a lot of youth by leading plant walks for the Enumclaw School District. The students I am working with currently are in a BIPOC summer program. You can watch the video below to learn more. I think every youth deserves time outdoors and I want to expand programming into more schools.
